Change the start button text in WinXP, how 2 make the start button say anything

this can be either with a HEX editor, but i have found that using a resource editor is much better. the one i will use is called Resource Hacker, available here

in resource hacker open up the file called explorer.exe and go to the folder called stringtable>37 and the 1033 file you will see "start" in quotes towar the top. Change that to whatever u want and then click the "Compile Script" button. Save the file as explorerx.exe or whatever you desire. now u need to go into the registry by typing regedit in the start>run window. navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Windows NT>Current Version>Winlogon and double click on the entry called "Shell." it should say explorer.exe in the text area. change it to explorerx.exe or whatever u named your new file. close the registry editor and log off windows, log back on. Success!
